From a small Ottawa shop to one of Canada’s largest independent IT suppliers.
RB Computing opened its doors in Ottawa in April 1997, building, selling and repairing computers for local businesses and families. The shop is still at it today, in the same city, with the same phone number.
It grew from there. Over 40,000 products move through shopRBC.com, and custom systems, depot repairs and business solutions go out the door at Menten Place every week.
None of that changed how we work. We serve small and large businesses, government agencies and home users across Canada, and you can still walk in and see the shop.
Rob started RB Computing out of his parents’ basement in 1996. He had been tinkering with PCs for years, and one bad experience at a local computer shop convinced him people deserved better. The shop opened the following April, and he has been building, selling and supporting computers ever since.
