Warranty, returns and product support for RB Computing and shopRBC.com. Start here and we will get it sorted.
Support and questions about shopRBC.com orders are answered faster by email.
The original invoice or your shopRBC.com order number is required for all warranty claims, returns, refunds and RMA requests. We cannot process a claim without it.
The RB Computing Inc. warranty is transferable. A second owner must produce the original invoice to claim under it.
RB Computing Inc. and shopRBC.com warrant products to be in good working condition and free from defects in material and workmanship for thirty days from the original invoice date, unless stated otherwise or restricted by the manufacturer’s own policy.
After thirty days, most items remain covered by a manufacturer warranty that varies by product. Most major manufacturers require that you contact them directly, and they will repair, return or replace per their own policies.
Repair work carried out by RB Computing Inc. is guaranteed for thirty days from the date the item is collected. The guarantee covers the specific fault that was repaired and the labour performed on it. It does not cover new or unrelated faults that appear after collection. Parts installed during a repair carry their own manufacturer warranty.
You are responsible for backing up your own data before leaving any equipment with us. RB Computing Inc. is not liable for the loss, corruption or deletion of data, software or settings arising from diagnosis, repair, servicing or data work, however caused. Diagnostic and repair work may require a drive to be reformatted or an operating system to be reinstalled, so back up anything you cannot afford to lose before dropping equipment off.
Physical damage voids the warranty, and permanently modifying a product counts as physical damage. On custom systems, damage caused by excessive dust, lightning strikes, abuse or lack of maintenance is not covered.
Custom systems carry a longer warranty than the thirty days above. You choose the coverage level when you purchase. A complete system is one that allows a full operating system installation; a monitor is not required.
Request a return online within 7 days of your invoice, or email support@shoprbc.com. If the item is found defective we replace it with the same item, subject to availability.
If your order arrives damaged, tell us within 48 hours of delivery. Carriers will not honour a damage claim reported later than that, and once they refuse it we have no way to recover the cost.
Keep the box and all the packaging until the claim is settled. The carrier almost always asks for photographs of the outer carton as well as the product, and a claim without them usually fails. Start a return request and say what arrived damaged, or call the shop if it is easier.
Most items qualify for a refund within 14 days of delivery. Once we approve your return, the item needs to reach us within 10 days. Returns must be shipped pre-paid, eligible refunds carry a 15% restocking fee, and because computer prices move, items are refunded at the price current at the time of return if that price is lower than what you paid. If the price has gone up, you are refunded what you paid. A defective item is replaced at no charge, so the restocking fee never applies to a warranty replacement. If you would rather have your money back than a replacement, that is a refund like any other and the restocking fee applies.
Sealed, unopened items in their original packaging are refundable within 14 days, including branded computer systems, notebooks, monitors, televisions, printers, and boxed software still in its shrink wrap. The standard restocking fee applies.
An opened item that is faulty is a warranty matter, not a refund matter. If something has stopped working, start with a return request rather than a refund. Defective software is exchanged for the same title, subject to availability.
Shipped returns need an RMA number. Request one online or email support@shoprbc.com. Packages without an RMA number clearly displayed on the box will be refused.
Returning in person at RB Computing does not require an RMA. Photo ID is required for any in-person return or refund, and the name on the ID must match the name on the original order. This applies to every return, without exception.
Refunds are issued only to the original method of payment used on the order. We do not issue cash refunds on card purchases, and we do not refund to a different card, account or person. Photo ID matching the name on the order is required for in-person refunds.
If the original payment method is no longer available, contact us before returning anything and we will sort out the right way to handle it. These rules apply regardless of how the order was placed.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and PayPal online. Prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include shipping, taxes or provincial recycling fees.
If an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to a typographical or supplier error, we may decline or cancel orders for that item, including confirmed orders. Any charge or pre-authorization already made is released or credited back to your card as soon as possible.
We do not charge orders until they are filled and ready to ship. Anything you see on your card before then is a pre-authorization, not a charge.
shopRBC.com uses strong encryption on every transaction and keeps its systems current with industry standards. We do not manage or store credit card numbers on shopRBC.com. We take our customers’ security very seriously.
